Since you can't move things when it comes to scanner or printer (except the printer heads), I believe this is a hardware error. Since hardware errors require a technician intervention, I recommend contacting your local Canon supplier or support service. You can send it to the local printer service as well, because they know how to deal with these.
Secondly, reinstall all the drivers and make sure the device is in one peace without any doors opened or things missing.
